I just finished watching Una giornata particolare (A Special Day) by Ettore Scola. The film depicts the friendship between two neighbours, an embittered homosexual and an opressed housewife. The films sets during one day in 1938 - the day when Hitler visited Rome to meet with Mussolini. I really loved it, and how it depicts the fascist mentality and man's eternal desire for contact is just beautiful. I know that in six months I will be able to analyze my feelings regarding the powerful impression this film gave me, but now, like an hour after I've seen it, I just feel real empty. In a good way, though.
